About Us

Pittsylvania County Community Action, Inc. (PCCA), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the designated community action agency providing comprehensive services to low income families in Pittsylvania County, Danville (City), Henry County, and Martinsville (City), Virginia.  PCCA also provides limited service in Campbell, Halifax, Patrick, and Caswell County (NC). 

Founded in 1965, PCCA's Board of Directors consists of at least on third democratically selected respresentatives of low-income people, one third local public officials, or their designees, and the remainder respresentatives of business, industry, labor, religious, social welfare, and other private groups in the community.

Through innovative programs and services and collaborative partnerships, PCCA strives to fulfill its mission to provide opportunities for individuals and families to overcome barriers, gain self-sufficiency, and improve quality of life.
