Job title: Director of Pre-School Head Start Program

Department: Head Start

Pay Range: $44,000 Annually

Status: Exempt

Position Reports to: Executive Director

General Scope of Duties:

Responsibe for administration and management of all aspects of the Head Start Pre-School Program in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, agency personnel policies and proceures to include supervision of content area managers     for 13 classrooms. Content areas are: education/mental health, parent and family engagement, and health and child development, and disabilities; this also includes transportation and nutrition. The Director plans, organizes and monitors program operations and services. The Director initiates the Community Assessment and the annual Program Self-Assessment. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining an organizational structure that supports implementation of the National Performance Standards and Community Relations.

Minimum Qualifications

> Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field such as sociology, psychology or elementary education;

> Must be an experienced administrator with an understanding of Child Development theories

> Must have knowledge of human development and the learning process;

> Must have knowledge of the functions of social services grantee agencies;

> Must have expertise in fiscal and program management with at least three years of actual experience;

> Adequate transportation and ability to meet and maintain agency's minimum insurance requirements;

> Must have experience in the writing of grants, letters and plans.
